How to use

  1. Choose a password length from 8 to 128 characters and a batch size from 1 to 100.
  2. Select uppercase, lowercase, number, and symbol character sets.
  3. Optionally exclude visually ambiguous characters, then generate the passwords.

Edge cases

Character coverage

Every generated password contains at least one character from each selected set.

No selected sets

Generation is rejected when every character set is disabled.

Password handling

Generated values are sensitive and remain memory-only, but clipboard managers and downloaded files are outside the app's control.

How it works

  1. Builds an alphabet from the selected character sets and removes ambiguous characters when requested.
  2. Uses Web Crypto with rejection sampling to avoid modulo bias and includes at least one character from every selected set.
  3. Shuffles each password with secure random indices and marks the output as sensitive for memory-only handoffs.

Frequently asked questions

Are generated passwords stored?

No. They remain in memory and are never placed in persistent storage or URLs.

Does a generated password guarantee account security?

No. Use a unique long password, a password manager, and multi-factor authentication where available. Security also depends on the service handling the password correctly.

Does this use Math.random()?

No. Password characters and shuffling use the browser Web Crypto random generator with unbiased index selection.
